Atlas outlast

I carry the weight of worlds

Weighed down by those

Who hopes rest upon my shoulders

The knees crack

Sore is the back

Yet upon it they rest

Holding up so many

Dodging life’s boulders

And the avalanche that seems plenty

This is a life I never chose

It offers no respite

Regardless of the fight

No sleep for the weary

Only eyes left blurry

And dreams torn asunder

With nightmares of wonder

For comforts

As the body contorts

And the spirit dies

Upon the hopes of lies
